Download cards – what are they?

Each card features your custom artwork, your web address and a unique access code that sends fans to your site or Facebook page to redeem for goodies such as music, video, ringtones, images and more! Then sell or give away the cards. You keep all of the money – just buy the cards. You set the price of the card. Try a live demo here.

Your album downloads are packaged as a ZIP file and can include whatever files you want (mp3s, liner notes, photos, videos, etc.). With one click, your fans download everything to their computer. Tracks will play in their default media player.

Paste the widget HTML code on your website, MySpace, Facebook and on as many pages as you want and the widget appears like magic. Put it on every page of your site and your sister’s blog page if you want. The more sites your music is available for immediate sale, the more sales you will get. Be sure to place it on at least one page that corresponds to the URL you have printed on the back of your cards, since this is where fans with cards will go.

Sell your music two ways

A – Sell download cards. You keep all of the money you make – just buy the cards. You set the price of the card. Fans do not need to sign up or sign in to redeem download cards, all they need to do is enter their code, click on the album/package and begin downloading.

B – Fans can purchase your album without a code using their credit card.

How it Works At a Glance

Set-Up

  1. Order cards (go to www.discrevolt.com and use “Crescent” promo code to get your free cards)
  2. Submit Package Content: webpage address, card artwork, DMC artwork, your music and any other content (see checklist at http://www.discrevolt.com/DMC/GetStarted.htm)
  3. Add DMC widget to your website (and anywhere you want people to be able to buy your album download from, even without a code)
  4. Start selling/giving cards out.

Redeeming codes

  1. Fans go to your site (the URL address printed on the back of the card)
  2. enter the code on the back of their card (or a code you email them) into the DMC website widget
  3. begin downloading.

Non-Code Sales

  1. Fans go to your site
  2. click on “buy it now” link in the DMC widget
  3. Pay using the built-in shopping cart
  4. Begin downloading

The DMC widget is also a shopping cart which allows you to sell your album without codes. You decide the sales price and you decide which albums, EPs or other packages you want to sell. Discrevolt collects the credit card info, delivers the content to your fans and sends you a check and a sales activity report monthly.

Codes without Cards

You can also purchase a Master Code or a set of Unique Codes that you can email to fans and reviewers.

They enter the code you email to them into the DMC widget as if they had a card.

Master Codes can be used over and over again by many people so you can:

Why I chose to partner with DiscRevolt

I looked at a lot of companies before settling on DiscRevolt. I liked some of the features of the others. Some were just too complicated or didn’t offer an easy way to order/reorder. Others forced card holders to go to their site to redeem their codes. One company (FizzKicks) had all the features I was looking to offer, but they weren’t reliable (they kept saying they would get back to me, but didn’t for weeks, and when I tried to order sample cards for my own album and the order “never went through”).
