MISC., YET COOL LINKS!

The Ruth Paz Foundation
Michael Paz (of Louisiana Jukebox) and his sister Mary Ann carry on the important work of helping Honduran children with medical needs. Their Mother, Ruth Paz, started the effort in the mid 1960’s, and continued until her life was claimed by cancer in 1996. The link will take you to the official Honduran Ruth Paz Foundation site.

Worms
Vermiculture, or worm composting, allows you to compost all your food waste faster than you ever imagined, while producing the highest quality compost and fertilizing liquid. Best of all, it’s self-contained and nearly odorless! Here is a great how to. And another. I got my worm bins from Happy D Ranch

Huge Wall Posters
Blockposters lets you create large wall posters from any image for free!

Free Online Faxes to and from your computer
Efax.com has free accounts that allow you to receive faxes on your computer – no fax machine required. Great for when you’re on the road touring. The free account does not let you specify your number and usually provides a long distance fax number. You can upgrade for their pro version to send faxes also. Editor’s Note: I’ve used this service for years.
faxZERO.com lets you send two free faxes a day with text or an attached doc or pdf file up to 3 pages, the catch: they put their ad on the cover page and it may go out slower. Or pay 1.99 for no ad, 15 pages and faster delivery.
FreeFaxButton lets users send up to three faxes per day with text or an attached file to the United States or Canada, plus 41 additional countries. Scroll down on the FreeFaxButton homepage for the PIN code you must enter to fax for free.
More sites that list more international faxes for free services. Note that I am not endorsing any of these companies. There are also many more paid services if you do more than occasional faxing. Just do a google search for “internet fax”.
