New Orleans Museum of Art: NOMA distributes CDs to the press when they announce a new exhibit. The CDs contain high-resolution photos to publish in articles about the museum. They also develop teacher workshops around each exhibit, and provide visual aids and teacher handouts via CD. They switched to CDs because of the extremely low cost to distribute such a large amount of information.
Freeport-McMoran: Animated demonstrations of mining techniques are presented in a clear, visual manner via CD-ROM. This is particularly effective when dealing with a subject that is impossible to demonstrate in person – in this case they are able to show something that takes place underground in a dangerous environment in a foreign country over a long period time.
Well Control School: Develops entertaining yet comprehensive interactive self-paced training CDs for oil well operation and production safety. The CDs courses contain over 2000 topics and skills, provide photorealistic simulations, video, and instruction, and even testing. This training program is a powerful tool for verifying competency as it ensures comprehension of key points, consistent training worldwide, and has been found to reduce training time by 25%.
Historic New Orleans Collection: To mark the anniversary of the Louisiana Purchase, the Historic New Orleans Collection developed a documentary and distributed it on a double DVD.
